A cream jug or small milk jug. This piece dates from the late 1960s to early 1970s. It has been finely potted using a stoneware clay. Throwing ribs are left throughout the jug which adds to the simple decorative qualities of this piece. A thin wash of iron oxide has been banded on the middle to lower part of the jug. An impressed maker's mark can be found near the base just below the handle. There has been considerable interest in early pieces made by Mary during the last two years. The dilema is do you risk using it or enjoy displaying it?
