An eight sided faceted lidded porcelain jar.  A tenmoku glaze has been applied beneath a white glaze and they have reacted together in the firing to create a smooth textured gloss finish. Small additions of a copper red glaze have also been added. The interior has a light blue Chun glaze. A maker's mark has been obscured by the thickness of the glaze.
