Vessel with a rolled clay handle. This piece has the gentle asymmetrical hand built qualities typical of pieces made by John in the mid to late 1980s.  It carries two landscape images with three floating clouds added in white and black enamels. The white enamel has a very fine hair line crazing which is typical of other forms made during this period. It has become a distinguishing feature of these pieces (but worth pointing out!) making it an integral feature of this phase of his life's work. It has a hand painted MALTBY on the underside of the footring.
